The Fit | Polka Dot Button Up

Day light savings is officially over and that's the first real sign that winter is on it's way. I'm not going to lie, it really sucks when it gets dark at 5 pm. You're rushing to get stuff done before the sun goes down and then by the time you get home and settle in it feels like it's 10 pm and your day is over. Day light savings also means that long sleeves and boots are back for good and it's time to start thinking about how to look good while being covered and warm.

I've never been the biggest fan of button up shirts for 2 reasons. One I have above average sized boobs and the infamous "worry hole" is one of my pet peeves. I'm not a scandalous person so when people can see my boobs from the side of my shirt it makes me very self conscious. Secondly, I feel like I can never find the right one that fits comfortably over my shoulder and is long enough where if I tuck it in it won't pop out as I'm walking. The struggle is real. But even with those struggles I still end up buying a few here and there because I love the clean look of a crisp button down shirt.

I always think it's interesting to see what's on sale in H&M. I always wonder why certain things are marked down. For example this top. I had seen it in some of their ads and usually that's how they get a lot of customers in their stores buying certain pieces but to my surprise there were a ton of these left and all different sizes. Like I mention earlier button ups aren't my favorite but the bib detailing and the polka dots really drew my eye. So I tried it on and weirdly enough loved how it looked. I was a little skeptical about how it made my boobs look but I think the size I picked was perfect fro my body type.

Originally this shirt was $30 and it was marked down to $20 which was reasonable. I really like this shirt because it has some stretch which is nice so you don't feel so stiff. The only down fall is that it's kind of short. It's definitely not crop top length but when I tucked it into my high waisted jeans and was moving around I could feel it pulling out and eventually it rose up to the point where it looked like I didn't have a neck ( as you can see in the the above picture. ) I don't want to have to be adjusting and tucking in all day. Maybe it was my pants, who knows. Besides that I love the way it looks. The baby blue with the navy dots is a great combination. Subtle with some pizzazz.

I decided to wear the shirt with high-waisted blue skinny jeans and accessorize with black tassel earring and simple black heels. I also wore my mustard yellow Steve Madden crossbody to dad so contrast to the outfit because I felt very blue.
