HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! Welcome to 2017!! How amazing does it feel to be here. It have actually made it to another year, to see a new day and to wake up and go for your dreams. For the past month I have been gearing up for 2017. I have had some the best conversations of my life and my eyes have been open to new ideas and possibilities I would have never even thought about. I actually freaking out as I'm writing this.

Every year we all create these Resolutions and what not and then around March we are reevaluating whether or not the things on our list are actually doable. I had the opportunity to Attend the Naturals in KC Vision Board party the other day and one thing that I got out of it was instead of having resolutions we should have intentions. Intentions are things that you are actually working on making happen they are reasonable and can be achieved with hard work and dedication. I fell in love with that concept so much that instead of making a vision board I created an intention board. I still have my resolutions but my intentions are definitely something I need to work towards as well.

I had never done an intention board before but I definitely think it was very much needed for this year. I think we get caught up in doing and achieving things that we are not ready for. I believe in dreams but I also believe that in order to reach those dreams and to achieve them we have to be ready. We have to take steps to prepare us mentally, physically and emotionally. We are want to live the lavish life but are you ready to put in the work to get that life. For my intention board I put down things that I have been reflecting on for some time.

I want to be able to think outside of the box. To think about new ways to do things to open my mind to new concepts, to new ideas. I want to think about my opinions and beliefs and understand why I believe them. I want to understand and digest contradictions. I want to benefit from tough conversations instead of pushing them aside. I want to be able to look forward to whatever is in store for me.

2| Be Positive

I'm all about being positive and finding the silver lining in situations. One thing that has been hard for me is talking to myself positively. I want be my biggest cheerleader when I'm having a rough day. I need to be able to tell myself that you've got this and you're more than amazing. You are capable and enough.

3| Enjoy life

I grew up in a household where we were told to be safe and I understand that my parents just wanted the best for me. But it hit me after talking to my brother, that there are a lot of things that I want to do and try. It's not that I'm afraid to do it, it's the what if factor. What if I get hurt. This year I've already done things that I enjoy. I went to a poetry slam, and I went to a vision board party by myself.

4|Take Care of Myself

I want to really dive into the new year loving myself. I don't think I've neglected it but I do think I haven't shown it as much love as I would like. I want to respect it for what it is. I want to treat it with the utmost care. My body is a temple and should be treated as such. I want to drink more water, exercise more and just breath more often. Take the time to open my mind, body and soul to whats out there.

I don't know about you, but I'm excited for 2017. I think so many amazing things are going to happen. I can feel it my bones. People are making moves whether we know it or not. We are reaching levels that e didn't think were possible and we are going places that were once not accessible. Come on 2017, I see you!!!
