Baby Girl, You are #BLCK GRL MGIC!

I'm back tackling the subject of BLCK GRL MGIC. Let's be honest, there is something magical that happens when a bunch of Black Girls come together. If you're lucky enough you'll be able to capture a picture of their magic. I mean let's just take the above picture for example; It's New Years Eve we all came dressed to impress. Individually we looked amazing but when we assembled it was something that was super natural. No one told us to stand in a certain place we all just piled in and smiled and this is the result. Melanin poppin, smiles on fleek, outfits on point and Black Magic just radiating from each and every single one of us.

To be honest this hashtag that started last year was probably the best thing that could have ever happened. Before it, I don't think there was anything out there that captured the essence of a group of black women. Here's the thing, it doesn't matter if we know each other or not, when we come together for any occassion our beauty elevates to a whole new level and there is no denying that we are absolutely magical.

In the last year my confidence level skyrocketed to new heights. The love for myself was undeniable. I began to appreciate the skin I was born with and I started talking to myself more positively. There was really nothing people could tell me. I loved myself and that's all that mattered.

For the black girl it's imperative that we know our own beauty. We have to know our own strength. Why? Because for the longest time people literally wanted us to stay at the bottom to do the dirty work without the praise. We are an educated group, with talents beyond measure. We seek to be on top of the game, and in 2017 i can assure you the Black Girl is going to be the best thing that has ever happened to you. So I'm asking you now, PLEASE DO. NOT. SLEEP. on the Black Girl. If you don't believe me, sit back and really observe all the things we do and accomplish, it will blow your mind!

I have friends who have started movements, who are the COO of companies, who have moved across the country to follow their dreams, who have connections with people in important positions, who are in medical school, who are starting non-profit organizations, who are entrepreneurs, who work 2 jobs, who get to travel around the world, who help save lives, who are overall just BOSSES. You may have not noticed it but our accomplishments are becoming something that people never thought we could achieve. We are breaking glass ceiling left, right and center. The best part about it all is that we are never going to stop. We have worked and are still working way too hard to be at the bottom of the totem poll. Clearly, you aren't aware of who we are, and instead of just telling you we have made it a point to show you.

To the people who don't believe in their own Black Girl Magic. Get you some friends that sprinkle theirs everywhere they go because I assure you that it's the best thing that will happen to you. Learn to love yourself for everything that you are worth. I appreciate the hairs on your head to the toes on your feet. Laugh more at the haters who try and put you down. Get rid of the self doubt and work on your self love. Invest in your happiness. Invest in your future. Invest in your Magic. One thing I ask is that you stop comparing yourself to others. As you compare yourself, you tell yourself that you are not enough. Baby girl, you are beyond enough. You are everything you could imagine and more. Let your Magic radiate. Let it just flow out of every part of you and don't let anyone tell you it's too much.

IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN THE MAGIC, PLEASE TAKE A LOOK FOR YOURSELF!
